Small Thomson Pink Cashmere Scarf

Thomson is a name that has gone to sea as well as to the Borders. Sir Charles Wyville Thomson, born at Bonsyde near Linlithgow in 1830, became Professor of Natural History at Edinburgh in 1870. He then led the scientific staff of HMS Challenger on its three-and-a-half-year voyage round the world, a journey that helped lay the foundations of oceanography. The Wyville-Thomson Ridge in the North Atlantic still carries his name. Thomson Pink is a modern colourway of the family's check, set in a gentle blush. It is Scottish heritage in its most adventurous form.

Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf is made in a smaller size. The pink is a soft blush, with the fine lines of the check showing clearly through it.

Each scarf is made over 35 steps, and the finishing touch is done by hand. Teasels glide over the cashmere, lifting the fibres to an extra soft finish. It is a scarf of delicate colour and generous warmth, small enough to wear every day.
