Small Fraser Red Wool Scarf

Fraser is one of Scotland’s most storied names. It first appears in Scottish records in the 12th century, when Simon Fraser held lands at Keith in East Lothian in 1160, and tradition traces the name to Anjou in France. The family spread through Tweeddale and into the north, and by the 13th century it was firmly rooted around Inverness, with Castle Dounie near Beauly as its main seat and the title of Lord Lovat held by its chiefs. The clan’s motto, “Je suis prest”, means “I am ready”. The Fraser red tartan is documented as far back as 1745, a pattern long worn with pride by members of the clan and admirers of its history.

This scarf is crafted from 100% pure extra fine lambswool in a Scottish mill with 250 years of heritage. The red is deep and radiant, glowing like embers, and the tartan runs across the cloth in a sharp, orderly check that keeps the colour looking refined. It brings life to grey flannel, cream knitwear and black tailoring.
