We handcraft this scarf in extra fine pure lambswool at a mill in Scotland that has been weaving for over 250 years. The iconic check is set with care, its lines crisp and its tones balanced, so the scarf wears its heritage easily. Fold it once beneath a blazer, loop it loosely over a trench coat, or let the fringed ends fall straight over a linen shirt. It is light and breathable enough to suit an early spring morning, a breezy summer evening or an autumn walk.

Each scarf passes through 29 steps, from dyeing and weaving to washing and finishing. The last is a gentle hand-brushing with teasels, an age-old technique that raises the fibres into a cloud-like softness. The result is a scarf with a kind handle, made to be worn through every season and kept for good.
