Camel and Black Check Wool Scarf

Our iconic check is the emblem of Edinburgh Cashmere, a Scottish heritage brand, and here it appears in deep black on warm camel. The contrast is bold yet tailored, and it gives a familiar Scottish classic a sharper, more graphic edge.

We make this scarf by hand from extra fine pure lambswool, in a mill that has been at its looms for more than 250 years. Black and camel meet along clean, even lines, so the iconic check reads crisply from across a room. Knot it at the collar of a denim jacket, drape it long over a charcoal suit, or wind it twice above a plain tee. The soft fringe at each end moves as you do, and the weight is easy enough to travel from office to evening to a long weekend away.

Behind each scarf lie 29 steps, from the first dye bath through the loom to washing and finishing. Last of all, we brush it lightly by hand with teasels, a time-honoured method that coaxes the fibres into a downy, featherlight finish. The result is soft against the skin and built to become a favourite you reach for again and again.
