Camel Check Wool Scarf

Our iconic check goes monochrome here, rendered entirely in camel. With one colour doing all the work, the pattern leans on its structure, and the result is understated, refined and effortless to wear. Edinburgh Cashmere is a Scottish heritage brand, and this scarf carries its roots with quiet pride.

We handcraft it in extra fine pure lambswool at a Scottish mill that has seen over 250 years of weaving. The iconic check is woven with a steady hand, its grid neat and its shade consistent from one fringe to the other. Pull it through a field jacket on a country walk, wrap it over a Breton top by the harbour, or let it trail from the shoulders of a silk dress at a garden party. Its soft drape suits a cool morning and a mild evening equally well.

There are no shortcuts in the making. 29 steps carry the wool from dye vat to loom, then through washing and finishing. At the very end, teasels are drawn across the cloth by hand, an old Scottish technique that raises the fibres for an extra-soft touch. Gentle on the skin and generous with wear, it is built to see out many years and remain a keepsake for life.
