Description

Stewart is a name woven through Scotland’s royal story. It was born of the office of High Steward, and its bearers went on to wear the Scottish crown from Robert II onwards, giving the country monarchs including Mary, Queen of Scots. Records of the surname in Scotland appear in the thirteenth century, and its tartan has been woven in many colourways since. Stewart Camel, recorded in the Scottish Register of Tartans, softens the clan’s pattern into warm, sandy neutrals.

This scarf is crafted from 100% pure extra fine lambswool in a Scottish mill with 250 years of heritage. Soft camel and tan lead the check, deepened by green and lit by fine touches of blue and gold, and the pattern settles across the cloth with a calm, even rhythm. It pairs easily with ivory knitwear, black trousers or a faded-blue shirt.

Twenty-nine considered stages bring each scarf to its final form, and the last is the most traditional: the lambswool is brushed by hand with teasels, which lift the fibres into a plush, airy softness. The result is a scarf of understated luxury, light in the hand and gentle in warmth, its fringed ends adding a graceful finish, made to be worn on any occasion and treasured for years to come.
