Small Mackenzie Cashmere Scarf

Few clans carry a story like the Mackenzies of Seaforth. Tradition tells that the Brahan Seer, a prophet of the Seaforth estate at Brahan near Dingwall, foretold the end of the family's line. When Francis Humberston Mackenzie, the last Lord Seaforth, died in 1815, all four of his sons had died before him. A stone at Chanonry Point near Fortrose is said to mark where the seer met his end. The Mackenzie tartan is carried here in navy and green. It is Scottish heritage in its most enigmatic form.

Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf is made in a smaller size. The navy and green sit snugly together, dark and calm, with the pattern close at hand.

Thirty-five steps go into each scarf, and the last is done by hand. Teasels are drawn over the cashmere to raise the fibres to an extra soft finish. The result is a scarf that is soft against the skin and warm at the neck, made to be worn from the first frost to the last.
