Mackenzie Cashmere Scarf

The name Mackenzie comes from the Gaelic MacCoinneach, "son of Kenneth". The clan took root in Kintail, in the Western Highlands, where its chiefs held the island stronghold of Eilean Donan, said to have been theirs by 1297. Their crest is a mountain in flames, and their motto, "Luceo non uro", means "I shine, not burn". The Mackenzie tartan is built from blues and greens, lit with white and a touch of red. It is Scottish heritage in its most radiant form.

Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf brings navy and green together in a close, even weave. The tartan reads clearly from a distance and rewards a closer look.

Every scarf passes through 35 steps, and the last is done by hand. Teasels are drawn gently over the cashmere to lift the fibres to an extra soft finish. The scarf that results sits easily at the neck, soft and warm, and is made to be worn day after day.
