Small MacKellar Cashmere Scarf

The MacKellars were people of trust in Argyll. In 1518 Duncan MacKellar of Ardare served as deputy to Colin, Earl of Argyll, and in 1538 a MacKellar sat among the bailies of Earl Archibald. In the seventeenth century Archibald MacKellar held the office of Chamberlain of Knapdale. The family tartan is shown here in natural tones of grey and beige. It is Scottish heritage in its most trusted form.

Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf is made in a smaller size. The natural greys and beiges sit softly together, calm and unfussy.

Behind each scarf are 35 steps, the last of them done by hand. Teasels are brushed across the cashmere to raise the fibres to an extra soft finish. The result is a gentle, easygoing scarf for everyday wear, in colours that go with almost everything.
