Description
The Lindsay tartan is known above all by its colour, a deep green and burgundy set against dark blue. The exact shades of a tartan are usually left to the weaver, but Lindsay is recognised by these, which have been recorded since 1842. The pattern follows the Stewart of Atholl sett, with the black given over to dark blue. The Lindsay name first appeared in the Borders of Scotland in the twelfth century. It is Scottish heritage in its most distinctive form.
Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf is made in a smaller size. The three colours sit close together, deep and well balanced.
Every scarf is finished by hand after 35 steps. Teasels are drawn lightly across the cashmere, raising the fibres to an extra soft finish. It is a scarf of deep colour and gentle warmth, easy to wear and made to last.
