Camel, Red & Black Check Cashmere Scarf

The iconic check is our signature at Edinburgh Cashmere, a Scottish heritage brand, and woven check has been part of Scottish dress for generations. Here it is set in warm camel, crossed with black and a bright line of red, with touches of grey and white for balance. It sits as easily beside charcoal tweed as beside cream knitwear.

Woven in pure cashmere at a 250-year-old heritage mill in Scotland, the scarf holds its check in crisp, balanced lines. Drape it open over a wool overcoat, fold it flat beneath a jacket collar, or loop it once around a favourite jumper. Either way, it brings a measured warmth to any outfit.

Around 35 separate stages go into each scarf we make, from dyeing and weaving to washing and finishing. The last is brushing by hand with teasels, a time-honoured technique that lifts the fibres into a cloud-like softness. The result is a scarf that feels gentle against the skin and is made to be reached for again and again, and to last for years.
