The iconic check is woven with exemplary accuracy, its lines sharp and its blue true along the whole length. Crafting it demands 29 steps, from the first dye through weaving, washing and finishing. The finishing is entrusted to teasels, passed across the fabric by a careful hand to fluff and lift the fibres into a supremely soft touch.
