Description
Thomson, meaning "son of Thom", is a name found across Scotland. This grey tartan was designed in 1958 for Lord Thomson of Fleet, drawing on a sample from the Moy Hall collection that dates from the middle of the nineteenth century. It is also suitable for Thompsons and for MacTavishs, who claim descent from Clan Mackintosh. It is Scottish heritage in its most refined form.
Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf shows the tartan in soft, cool greys, its fine stripes sitting neatly through the cloth.
Each scarf takes 35 steps to make, and the last is the most traditional. Teasels are brushed over the cashmere by hand, lifting the fibres to an extra soft finish. The scarf that results has a gentle warmth and an easy elegance, and is made to be reached for every day.
