Small Thomson Camel Cashmere Scarf

The Borders gave the name Thomson one of Scotland's best-loved poets. James Thomson was born at Ednam in 1700 and wrote The Seasons, a long poem that follows the year from spring to winter. The Thomson Camel is a modern tartan, its warm sandy ground bringing a lighter note to the family's checks. It is Scottish heritage in its most seasonable form.

A 250 year old heritage mill handcrafts this scarf from 100% pure cashmere, in a size made for easy wrapping. The camel is soft and sunlit, with the fine check running fresh and clean through it.

Every scarf passes through 35 steps on its way from the loom. The last is a hand-finish with teasels, brushed across the cashmere to coax up an extra soft surface. It is a scarf to pull on for the first cold days of autumn and keep close until spring.
