DESCRIPTION

This solid dark blue scarf from Edinburgh Cashmere, a Scottish heritage brand, is made from pure extra fine cashmere in a rich, even blue so dark it works like a neutral. It has the sharpness of black with a little more depth, and sits as comfortably with grey, camel, cream and white as it does with tailoring and denim.

The cloth comes from a mill that has been manufacturing for over 250 years, and it is smooth and supple, with dense, even colour and a clean fringe. Wear it long beneath a coat, folded once at the collar or looped loosely over a knit, where the deep tone anchors the outfit.

Thirty-five steps take each scarf from dyeing and weaving through washing and finishing, and the last is done by hand: a gentle brushing with teasels, a traditional technique that leaves the cashmere soft and light.
