Description

The Buchanan name comes from lands on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, granted by the Earls of Lennox around 1225 and confirmed with baronial rights in 1282. At the heart of the clan lies Clairinch, a small island in the loch that gave the clan its war cry, "Clar Innis". Their motto, "Clarior hinc honos", means "henceforth the honour shall grow ever brighter". The Buchanan tartan is known for its vivid colours and asymmetrical design, and it carries all of that history with confidence. It is Scottish heritage in its most resplendent form.

Made in a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf is handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere. The colours are vivid and warm, and the asymmetrical pattern gives the cloth a lively rhythm.

Thirty-five steps bring the cashmere to perfection, and the last is done by hand. The surface is brushed with teasels, which raise the fibres to an extra soft finish. The result is a scarf that feels wonderfully soft and cosy, ready for the coldest days.
