Thomson Red Cashmere Scarf

Thomson means "son of Thom", and it has a Highland counterpart in MacTavish, the two names long regarded as one. Around 1950 the tartan authority D.C. Stewart noted that a tartan of this family had recently come into use as the one appropriate to the Thomsons. The Thomson Red sets a broad band of red framed by lines of blue and black. It is Scottish heritage in its most assured form.

Handcrafted from 100% pure cashmere at a 250 year old heritage mill, this scarf gives the red a deep, warm glow, framed by fine lines of blue and black.

Every scarf takes 35 steps to make, and the last is done by hand. Teasels are drawn across the cashmere to lift the fibres to an extra soft finish, leaving it gentle against the skin. It is a scarf that is a pleasure to wear all winter.
